Halloween is not too many weeks away and I decided to do a few illustrations with skeletons as a theme. One of the ideas I settled upon was of an evil looking pumpkin headed skeleton giving chase to another skeleton.
It was going to be oil on gessoed hot press watercolour paper but two skeletons on A4 size (which is all I had) would be too fiddly so I did them on separate sheets.
But oils take a while to dry in between layers and whilst they were drying I started on the ink and wash versions you can see in the main header image. Those illustrations were combined in Photoshop, with the Trick or Treat text added, for use in halloween merchandise.
I’ve been busy with other things so still haven’t got back to the oils but will post them once they’re finished.
