Vietnamese Paddy Fields Painting

As you can see in the image below, I started with a very rough placement sketch and a wash of cadmium yellow light. In the original photo the leftmost worker was much further away from the others, I brought them closer for a better arrangement.
Next I went in with burnt sienna, more yellow (cadmium yellow light and cadmium yellow medium) and a pthalo blue/titanium white mix in the sky. The shot below shows my palette at that stage, I'm working in thin washes here but will use thicker applications as the painting progresses. The purples you can just about see in the bottom right are acrylics from another painting.
