
Wetcanvas have a weekend drawing event, the WDE. Participants choose a photograph, from a provided selection, that they paint or draw in their choice of medium. They then show the result of their efforts at the 2 hour mark.
This weekend I decided to have a go at a small bunch of scrumptious looking red tomatoes. My medium was casein on cold press watercolour paper. Here are the shots at 45 minutes and 75 minutes:

Colours used were cadmium red, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow and titanium white. I used a palette knife in the final stages of the background for that rough and textured painterly look.
