This Miner’s Lamp was done as part of a Paint-a-Long on Wetcanvas. I created a monochrome underpainting with black and white acrylic gouache (they smell so stongly!) and then glazed colour on top.
My faithful palette knife. It’s the only one I have, used mostly for mixing colours rather than painting.
Another of the quick one-a-day paintings.
I decided it would be very good practice to do a number of quick one-a-day paintings. These are very quick paintings that I’ll do in under an hour. I plan on doing about 100 of them(!) but will post only a few here.
This pair of scissors was done with a 3/4 inch brush. I’m pleased with the loose effect.
I fished out this old painting of an apple. It was my attempt at a glazed apple after this very useful post on Wetcanvas.
This little painting was done for a wetcanvas project. If you’re an artist but not familiar with wetcanvas then do check it out, it’s an online forum for artists; it’s been going on for years; huge and active membership; a great resource.
